Hollywood Movie about Offshore Online Gambling in the Works

A new film that focuses on online gambling is in the works.  Entitled Runner, Runner, the film will feature Justin Timberlake in the starring role.  It is the latest project from screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien who wrote the cult film Rounders, which came out in 1998 and also features a gambling theme.

Runner, Runner will delve into the world of offshore online casinos.  It will provide a look into the offshore internet gaming community while telling the story of a business founder and his protégé and their increasingly strained relationship.

Based on information from the Hollywood Reporter, production for Runner, Runner is scheduled to begin in Puerto Rico this summer, and may also include avid poker player and popular actor Ben Affleck in its cast.  Furthermore, the film is set to be directed by Brad Furman, who is known for his direction of several movies, most recently for the film The Lincoln Lawyer.
