Two New Non-Executive Directors at William Hill

Bookmakers William Hill has appointed two media and human resources experts to its board in a bid to improve its reputation.

William Hill has announced that Imelda Walsh and Georgina Harvey have been appointed to its board of directors. The positions, effective from November 1st, will be in a non-executive capacity.

Chairman of William Hill, Gareth Davis, said the two new directors will concentrate on regulatory and  technology issues, "as well as people issues which William Hill is currently facing."

"I am very happy that Georgina and Imelda are on William Hill's board. They have valuable experience from retail and media," he continued.

Both new director's bring a wealth of experience to William Hill. Imelda Walsh was the Group Human Resources Director at retail giant J. Sainsbury Plc from 2004 to 2010. During this period, the company acted as a trustee of Comic Relief, and held a position on the board of the Institute of Employment Studies.

Georgina Harvey was the Managing Director of the Regionals division of Trinity Mirror plc from 2005. Previously, she worked at Express Newspapers plc and in July last year, was appointed as President of the Newspaper Society.
